Taiwan Trip Reflection

The main objective of this Taiwan trip is to learn more from others and improve our standards, thus the opportunities of having bonding among our members and also build confidence and stage presence for some of us.

During the Taiwan trip , I had been to two schools and one Guzheng Association for Guzheng exchange programmes,which are the Municipal Fuxing Senior High school and Chinese Culture University,thus the Tang Ming Guzheng Association.I realized that they were pleased to see us and had been awaiting for the exchange programmes with us. I had done a lot of things in Taiwan such as visiting the Municipal Fuxing Senior High School, and also enjoyed their performance for us, thus their performance was quite impressive, I was impressed by their performance as they put in a lot of effort in Guzheng , and wanted to put in their best in the performance, and I could see that they had a lot of confidence and stage presence in performing on stage, I really like their performance.

The most difficult event today was to watch my friends to perform on the stage at the exchange programmes because they had to adapt to it as they were chosen to perform and tried their best.Visiting the Tang Ming Guzheng Association made me feel more impressive, as their Guzheng were much different than ours but they could play their Guzheng like a piano and the members playing were mostly teachers, and I was impressed and enjoyed their performance, thus their Guzheng had more than 21 strings which is much complicated, after they allowed us to see and touch their Guzheng, i was impressed by the Guzheng too, they were special to me, I enjoyed the exchange programmes with the association,which gave a deep impression of Taiwan guzheng association.

When we reached the Chinese Culture University, they lent us their Guzheng for performers, and we had to push all the Guzheng to the performing hall, some of us helped to carry the box.When I was carrying the box, I was impressed by the university as the university was quite large, thus that was my first time visting a university. The Chinese Culture University performance also impressed me too, the performance there was awesome and their performance skills were quite strong, mostly they were talented too,the performance was quite different as they put other instruments together with guzheng, and that was my first time seeing they played Guzheng without sitting down but standing up with their feets.When it was our turn, the performers took the Guzheng and tuned well, then went to change into their performance clothing, while the students who were not performing, helped my instructor with the arrangements of the Guzheng on stage,I helped them by putting all the legs and chairs on stage,and even helped them with their bags, by putting them on the back stage.After that, I sat back and enjoyed their performance. I felt that my friends did well in the performance, I like their performance.My most significant learning point is learning from others ,having confidence in yourself ,passion and right attitude towards Guzheng.

Lastly, there are many beautiful scenery in Taiwan, I went to Ximen Ding as it was near my hotel, Toucheng Leisure Farm to experience the farm life, which I enjoyed the most. Experiencing the traditional countryside life is really nice, thus, it was a nice experience for me, there were many fun activities when we were touring the farm after breakfast.When I was touring around the farm,I could see the things that I never see and experience before.The fun activities were fruit picking, visiting the mini zoo, see how they cultural the paddy rice, learning how to DIY T-shirt, Kung Yao-digging sweet potato, BBQ.i will definitely recommend to my friend to visit the farm,as it had a nice scenery,air was fresh there,the room is quite comfortable,the activities there was very enjoyable,I would like to go again if I have the time,it is a place where I could have fruitful experience.

During the days two, three, four, and five. I had also been to Senkang Toufu Street, Wufengqi water-fall ,Eslite Bookstore ,National Chiang Kai Shek Memorial hall, Yehliu Geological Park,Chiufen ,Danshui Old Street, The Fisherman’s wharf, Shihlin Presidential Residence, Shihlin Night market, Taipei 101 shopping mall.

These places were great, it was nice to go there.At the Senkang Toufu Street, I got to taste the smelly Toufu, that was my first time eating it,it was quite nice especially the fried smelly toufu although it was smelly, I enjoyed eating the smelly toufu very much.At the Wufengqi water-fall was another nice experience as we got to climb the stairs to get to the water-fall,it was tiring afterall,but after the toughness, I we got to see the beautiful water-fall,thus it was cooling up there.I loved the scenery very much.

We went to the Eslite bookstore after viewing at the 89th floor of the Taipei 101.The Eslite bookstore had a lot of books and the books were arranged in sections by sections, we spent about 1hours there. At Taipei 101 building, the tour guide helped us buy the ticket to view the 89th floor of the building, then we queued for our turn to take the lift to the 89th floor, the lift was extremely fast,it reached the 89th floor. It was my first time viewing at the 89th floor.I liked the building a lot.At National Chiang Kai Shek Memorial hall, we went down and took pictures a while then got to the bus.

At Yehliu Geological Park,it was raining, thus it was hard to take pictures of the rocks, and it was very cold but I liked to take pictures of the rock especially the lady queen rock.i enjoyed shopping and buying things at Danshui Old street,The Fisher’s wharf,Shihlin Presidential Residence,Shihlin Night market and Ximen Ding.The local delicacies that I liked the most were fried ice-cream and fried rice.I will introdunce to my friends because they must try them,it was supremely nice .The night market was a place where it was nice to go, it had varieties of food to eat and even shop there.I enjoyed the whole trip very much.

In the future, I hope to see more teamspirit in my CCA, I also hope to have more this kinds of trip for the juniors in the future too, this helps to make more friends and bonding among the members and teachers in charge of the CCA, gets to know them better and maintain our teamspirit, so that it could pass it do.
